Das Künstlerhaus/The Artist House

A central and most inspirational location for Bohemian Crossings is the artist house near the Verraetergasse in the heart of the city. It is not only a free place to live and work but a living work of art in itself, and hard to describe since every person entering the house becomes part of the artwork. Created by the poet and artist Fabian "Bone" Bonig this work of art could be named "life", or the creation of a dream, out of stone, words, tools and pictures. A work of art where the creator is the central point, as well as those who visit him. All of them become works of art, whether they hold on to their beer bottle without loosing too many words, or have a lot to say. In every case they are moving out of their normal reality, because the house on the Obermarkt 26 is exactly that: an alternative reality, an alternative to superficiality, to lies, to the eternal chase after nothing substantial, an alternative to the grinding machine many have to call their day to day life. The building is like a living entity, constantly changing, growing, decaying and renewing itself, part out of stone, metal or wood, part out of dreams, thoughts and half formulated ideas. A place in the stream of life, a work in progress where the muse herself seems to be creating. The life energy of the building are the human beings who live and work in it, especially the tall blonde man whose artistic discipline seems to be "being".

Nights among those people, in this constantly changing reality are real, but also made out of the essence which is the heart of time, the heart of dreams. Things that are said during those hours may leave those walls to conquer worlds - or become a new ornament in those old rooms.
