Mit den „Poles of Memory“, die in einem 10-tägigen Workshop mit Lily Yeh, Görlitzern und Menschen aus der ganzen Welt gemeinsam entworfen, gestaltet und aufgebaut werden setzen wir Erinnerungen ein Denkmal, eines, dass der Geschichte der Stadt und der Menschen gerecht werden soll. Als Vorbereitung zum Workshop wurden wir, die Freien Künstler, dazu aufgefordert, zu schildern, in Wort, Bild oder Musik, was uns an der Stadt Görlitz bewegt. Denn das was uns bewegt ist das woran wir uns später erinnern werden.

„Poles of Memory“ is the working title for a public artwork which will be designed, created and arranged by citizens of Goerlitz and people from all over the world in a 10 day workshop with Lily Yeh. To prepare for this work, we, the Free Artists were asked to put forward what moves us in this city, in pictures, music or text. What moves us today will be the memories of tomorrow.
